40 Hours per week with 8, 10, 12, or 16 hour shifts or
some combination thereof. |
| Minimum Requirements: |
Current State of Florida Paramedic certificate required
upon application. EMTs will not be considered. Enrollment in PM school
or pending testing will not be considered. Orange County Paramedic
certificate will be required within 6 months of hire date. AHA CPR
certificate also required. Must be a high school graduate or possess a
GED (An Associates Degree from an accredited college or university is
highly desirable). Must possess excellent written, and oral
communications skills (Multilingual skills are desirable). Must possess
a valid Florida Driver License and maintain insurability under the
District's commercial vehicle coverage. EMTs will not be considered for
this position. You must possess a State of Florida Paramedic
certification to apply. The state of Florida does not recognize National
Registry. Unsolicited resumes for EMT will not be considered. |
| Responsibilities: |
Administers life support care, to sick and injured
persons in a pre-hospital setting as authorized, assigned and directed
by the District. |

Most essential functions require muscular strength and
endurance, aerobic capacity, flexibility and equilibrium. Must maintain
sufficient physical ability to perform essential functions and
successfully pass periodic examinations required by the District. |

Firefighter Paramedic

| Minimum Requirements: |
EMTs will not be considered. Work as a team member
and/or individually in carrying out a variety of assignments in
emergency situations. Must possess up to date Florida certifications for
Firefighter Minimum Standards, and Paramedic. Must possess a valid
Florida State Driver's license and maintain insurability under the
District's commercial vehicle coverage. EMTs will not be considered for
this position. The state of Florida does not recognize National
Registry. Applicants currently attending Paramedic school or those
pending testing, will not be considered. Unsolicited resumes for EMT

| Responsibilities: |
Applicants must possess and be able to demonstrate the
skills, knowledge and abilities as outlined in the Florida Firefighter
Minimum Standards Program. Fire suppression activities include the
demonstrated skills and depth of knowledge necessary to function under
general supervision. Will function safely and effectively as an integral
member of a team of equally or less experienced firefighters to
accomplish a series of tasks. Assume duties as may be designated within
the incident command system.
Participates in the medical treatment of patients in emergency and
non-emergency situations. Able to work as a team member or independently
in the delivery of medical services and demonstrate knowledge and
proficiency commensurate with paramedic certification. Provide for
personal safety and the safety of others, patient assessment and
emergency medical care, record keeping, data collection, and patient
advocacy. |
