The Fire Department was established in 1968 to provide fire prevention and fire protection to the District. Basic ambulance service began in 1971, followed by advanced life support service in 1976. The Fire Department maintains four fire stations located throughout the District and provides fire, rescue, and emergency management services.

SERVICES RCFD PROVIDES

911 Communications – Providing radio communication and Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD) Services

Operations – Providing life support (ALS) emergency medical services (EMS) and fire/rescue services

Fire Prevention  – Fire & life safety inspections are coordinated through the Office of the Fire Marshal

Emergency Management – The emergency management section coordinates the emergency preparedness of both the department and the surrounding areas.
